Cargo space rarely makes the brochure cover, but it decides how a vehicle fits into real life. The 2026 Hyundai lineup spans that whole range, from a 402 L sedan trunk to 2,462 L behind the front seats of a three-row SUV.
This ranking covers every 2026 Hyundai sedan, crossover, SUV and electric vehicle with a published cargo figure. Three-Row SUVs: IONIQ 9, Palisade and Santa Fe Hybrid
The all-new IONIQ 9 takes the top spot with 2,462 L behind the front seats, 1,323 L behind the second row and 620 L behind the third row, the largest third-row cargo figure in the lineup. Its 3,130 mm wheelbase stretches the cabin and cargo area, and exterior Vehicle-to-Load capability turns the 110.3 kWh battery into a power source for coolers, pumps and tools at the campsite.
The all-new Palisade is a close second at 2,455 L behind the first row, 1,310 L behind the second row and 540 L behind the third row. It is offered in 8-passenger and 7-passenger layouts, so families who need every seat still keep a usable cargo well. The Palisade is also the AJAC Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year and the North American Utility Vehicle of the Year for 2026.
The Santa Fe Hybrid rounds out the three-row group at 2,267 L behind the first row, 1,148 L behind the second row and 413 L behind the third row. Seven-passenger seating is standard on most trims, with a 6-passenger captain’s chair layout on the Ultimate Calligraphy. HTRAC all-wheel drive and a 1.6L turbo hybrid rated at 6.9 L/100 km combined are standard on every trim.
Two-Row Crossovers and SUVs: Tucson, Kona, IONIQ 5 and Venue
The Tucson is the cargo leader among two-row Hyundai SUVs at 1,095 L behind the rear seats and 2,119 L folded on the 2.5L trims. Hybrid trims carry 1,097 L and 2,108 L, while the Plug-in Hybrid offers 902 L and 1,876 L. Under-floor cargo storage and 60/40 split reclining rear seats are standard, and a Smart Liftgate is standard from the Preferred with Trend Package up.
The Kona and Kona Electric share an identical 723 L behind the rear seats and 1,803 L folded, which puts a subcompact crossover ahead of several larger vehicles. Both include a dual-level cargo floor for a flat load surface or hidden storage. The Kona Electric adds 420 km of range from a 64.8 kWh battery, so there is no cargo penalty for going electric.
The IONIQ 5 offers 745 L with the seats up, the highest seats-up figure among the two-row models, and 1,655 L folded. A 3,000 mm wheelbase frees up passenger room as well. The Venue holds 528 L behind the rear seats and 902 L folded, with a dual-level cargo floor and foldaway cargo cover standard on every trim.

The Elantra trunk holds 402 L, with a Hands-free Smart Trunk standard from the Preferred trim up. The Elantra Hybrid, offered on the Luxury trim, returns 4.7 L/100 km combined, making it the most fuel-efficient way to move 402 L of cargo in the lineup.
