Vehicle reconditioning

The 5 critical steps of our vehicle reconditioning process

Guelph Hyundai is constantly looking to ensure the highest quality possible for the pre-owned vehicles that it offers for sale. Making sure that the vehicles we sell will be reliable and dependable is very important to us. We have developed a thorough reconditioning process for every vehicle we sell in our used car department.

Although vehicle reconditioning is a straightforward process, the steps involved are important, and the level of attention and detail will vary from one dealership to the next. At Guelph Hyundai, we have made it our mission to set the benchmark for vehicle reconditioning so that our clients always get the highest quality. Here we look at the five critical steps of our vehicle reconditioning process and how it benefits the car or SUV's future owner.

Step one is the inspection

Before reconditioning a vehicle, the first step is to perform a thorough inspection. Covering multiple points on the vehicle, from the exterior and interior to the brakes, transmission, engine compartment and underbody components, our technicians will go over the entire vehicle to determine what needs to be repaired and the different problem areas.

Step two involves performing the required repairs with genuine parts

Once we have performed the full inspection, we know what needs to be addressed. Whatever repair needs to be made or part that needs to be replaced, we will only use genuine parts to ensure long-term durability and optimal performance.

The third step is to check recalls and interior technology

Our experts will also check if there are any recalls on the vehicle during the reconditioning process. We can also ensure that the infotainment system and interior technologies work as they should. Doing so will allow us to ensure your vehicle is in prime condition when you drive it off the lot and, more importantly, ensures that you don't have to come back the next day because of a faulty backup camera or a recall that wasn't performed.

Step four is to thoroughly clean the interior and exterior of the vehicle

The third step in the Guelph Hyundai reconditioning process involves thoroughly cleaning the vehicle inside and out to get rid of stains, smells and to make sure we can spot any dings or dents that need to be repaired. We will also make sure the headlight covers are clear to ensure proper visibility.

The last step is to determine if any bodywork is necessary

Once we have thoroughly cleaned the vehicle, we can check and see if there are dings and scratches that we can remove quickly using high-quality products. It will also allow us to see if there are some body repairs that are more substantial that need our attention. Paint chips and scratches are normal on a pre-owned car, but most of the time, we can get rid of many of them once the vehicle has been cleaned.
